The Company has been established from the Investment Department of Iain Nicholson & Co, a leading firm of Solicitors in Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne, who specialise in private Client work and who had been handling Clients' investment work since the 1970's and on a more formal portfolio management service since 1980. Iain Nicholson Investment Management concentrates on discretionary or advisory portfolio management for private Clients and Trusts. However, it also provides a financial services package to the Client offering advice on other financial matters such as pensions, mortgages and other financial products. Iain Nicholson Investment Mangement's predecessor, Iain Nicholson & Co was a founder member of the Association of Solicitor Investment Managers (ASIM). Iain Nicholson Investment Management is a member of the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers (APCIMS) and ASIM which are organisations dedicated to promoting high standards in investment management. Compensation - we are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Most types of investment business are covered for 100% of the first £30,000.00 and 90% of the next £20,000.00, so the maximum compensation is £48,000.00.
